A little about us!
Stepping Stones Christian Preschool (SSCPS) was started because we saw a need for good Christian education and childcare in Troy. SSCPS opened it’s doors in July 2003. We started with 12 children and 5 staff members. Through the years we have continued to grow, and in April of 2006 we moved with the church into our current facility. We were able to expand and currently have approximately 120 children enrolled with 25 staff members!

We have been very blessed with the children and families who currently attend and have attended our facility, we have watched children grow in knowledge and Christian love. We provide a safe learning environment that help the children build a solid foundation for their educational and spiritual growth.

Our Purpose
SSCPS is here to provide a warm and loving atmosphere for preschoolers. Recognizing the importance of balanced growth, we attempt to provide an atmosphere conducive to maximum social, emotional, physical and spiritual development of each child.

Philosophy
A child should feel fee to develop socially, emotionally, physically and spiritually at their own speed. They have the right to be loved, praised, listened to and disciplined with love, patience and understanding. Children should be shown that their rights extend only as far as the next person’s rights begin.

A child is a special gift and a serious responsibility given to us from God. They should be loved, nurtured and given a secure, loving environment in which to learn and grow. The children will hear Bible stories and have a prayer at snack time and lunchtime.

Academic Objective
Children will be introduced to:

• Recognition and formation of letters, attaching meaning of letters and pronouncing the sound they stand for.
• Recognition, writing and attaching meaning to numbers.
• Developing and understanding of basic concepts.
• Practicing good manners
• Developing gross and fine motor skills
• Sharing, taking turns, raising their hand to be recognized and contributing to a positive learning environment.
• Daily Christian education

About our Day!
We offer a nutritious breakfast & afternoon snack and a well balanced lunch each day. Class time is typically during the morning hours. During this time the classrooms explore the theme for the week, which is provided on the Monthly Calendar, and the letter, number, shape and color for the week. They also work on their Fine Motor Skills, Gross Motor Skills, Manipulatives and Christian Education. They also enjoy outside playtime on the playground when weather permits or we have center play in our Multipurpose Room. After lunch the children have naptime, with a light snack when they awake. Then it is outside play or structured play until parents arrive to take them home!

Rates are based upon a weekly rate. Rate schedule will be provided to you upon request.
